About me

Hi! I'm Aoife and I attend university at Trinity College Dublin. I'm studying Acting but also have an active interest in Theology and English Literature. I achieved 100% in my Drama A-Level (60% of which is written) and a high A* in English. My course is incredibly intense, with only 15 other students in each year, and each week I spend around 5 contact hours studying poetry and classical text so my knowledge is improving all the time. I achieved 100% in my Drama A-Level (60% of which is written) and a high A* in English. My course is incredibly intense, with only 15 other students in each year, and each week I spend around 5 contact hours studying poetry and classical text so my knowledge is improving all the time. I am personally a huge fan of Shakespeare and know a lot of his work by heart ( I am indeed, a huge nerd) and love getting more young people excited about The Bard! I have tutored GCSE students before in Drama and English Literature so I already have a fair bit of practical experience.

I loved my A-Levels (and my GCSEs for that matter), and while I know that may seem strange, it's simply due to the fact that I really enjoyed the subjects I was taking. I will mainly focus on finding the individual accessibility within the subjects you study, i.e. what interests you and what you are naturally drawn to - that will make achieving a high grade that much easier!

About my sessions

Tutoring is an individual practice. It's great because it means that to every student I teach I will bring a different approach to the session depending on their needs. However, there are some key principles I will always stick to.

No matter the level of student I will always be invested in their progress. Initially I would hope to outline around 3 main goals that you wish to achieve. Over the course of our session(s) I will consistently check in on...

Over the course of our session(s) I will consistently check in on the development of those objectives.

My lessons will always be interactive, I aim to be as engaging as possible and to encourage the student to be an independent learner. This is so whatever they may gain from my lessons will stay with them and continue to benefit them in their learning.

While content is obviously very important, exam technique is crucial if you want to attain a solid mark. I will aim to deliver the key material of this potentially boring aspect of your exams in a succinct and fun way!

And finally I am relaxed. Providing a stress free and non judgemental or confrontational environment for students in very important to me. I learn best when I am happy and comfortable. never want my students to feel under pressure when they are being tutored by me! It garners better results and leads to a happier student (and a happier tutor!)
