I found that what helped me overcome challenges through GCSE and A Level most effectively is when I was able to put my questions on a specific topic to a teacher in a one-to-one setting and have them test my understanding in order to further my academic progress.

This is therefore precisely the approach I intend to take in tutorials, in order to assess a student's existing knowledge and then build upon that in a manageable and ambitious fashion.

Outside of my academics, I am highly involved in Debating and Negotiating competitions at university and am Vice-President at my hall's Junior Common Room (student body committee). Debating and student government (such as school council) is something that I have been involved with throughout school and now into university.

About my sessions

My Online Lessons will be delivered in as interactive a way as possible. This means that, for a given topic, I will first establish a student's current level of knowledge and find out from them where they seek support. From there, I will spend some time within the lesson discussing the substantive knowledge elements of the topic - ensuring the student has a good grasp of that.

Finally, the key to the lesson will be testing the student's understanding of what we have...

Finally, the key to the lesson will be testing the student's understanding of what we have discussed. This could be done through summary questions from myself towards the end of the lesson, however if the student has specific questions that they would like to go through then of course this can be accommodated as a way to test understanding and ultimately build confidence.
