When I was at school I found individual tutoring a lot more beneficial than a large classroom environment, and my academic achievements have in part been due to my fantastic tutoring support throughout sixth form. Therefore, I can appreciate the importance of focussed attention on an individual in order to enhance learning. I find tremendous satisfaction in being able to explain a concept to someone who previously struggled, and I think both parties can gain confidence and self-reward through this teaching process. I am patient and am more than happy to spend as long as it takes for material to be processed and comprehended. I am also aware that one size does not fit all, so I am able to adapt to different teaching styles depending on what suits the student best. The focus of my tutoring would be to build up on already existing knowledge to introduce new ideas, and to recommend study skills I have used in the past. The aims of my teaching would be to provide students with assertiveness in their work so that they are able to succeed to the best of their abilities.
At GCSE I achieved an A* in Chemistry, English Literature, English Language, French, Geography, and Maths, and an A in Art, Biology, German and Latin. I feel I am best skilled to tutor Maths and Biology at GCSE level, and for these subjects the examination boards were IGCSE and AQA respectively. For A-level I achieved an A* in Maths (Edexcel), an A in Biology (AQA) and a B in Chemistry (Edexcel). I am available to also tutor A level Biology.
I am very flexible for tutoring sessions, and am current availability evenings and weekends, in addition to the odd afternoon/morning during the week.
