I’m very experienced in working with children, due to my roles in the Scout Association. I’m a Group Skills Instructor for my local troop, and I also worked at a National Scout Centre, where I am a qualified archery, climbing, rifle shooting, and high ropes instructor. I’ve got lots of practice in supporting and enabling children to meet and exceed their goals.

About my sessions

My style of tutoring based around problem based learning. I like my tutees to bring questions that they're struggling with or have questions about. We can then work through these, focussing on the critical thinking and the understanding of how to approach problems. I can also provide tutorial style work, with structured questions to test understanding and aid development of strong analytical techniques.

I think this approach to learning both supports exam results as well as helps develop my pupils ability to encounter other styles of problems - learning the techniques well is a vital part of every mathematics based discipline.
