My undergraduate degree was in Classics at Bristol and it allowed me to combine my love of learning languages with my interest in ancient history and civilisations.

I am a German native speaker and was born and raised in Germany, letting me experience the entirety of its school system and so many facets of German history and culture, which I enjoy being able to pass on to my students. I do believe that I will be able to help your child enjoy German more, which in turn helps enormously when trying to learn it. Furthermore, as a bilingual German-English person, I will be able to give a unique insight into German grammar, topical and general vocabulary and culture.

About my sessions

As far as I have noticed, the best results rely on mutuality. As I don't have experience with the British curriculum, I will do my own research on exams and relevant topics but I'll also have to rely on the student to tell me what they're having difficulties with and I will tailor my sessions around these. If a student explains certain grammar or vocab points to me, I don't just learn something myself but I can assess whether the student has understood it themselves. It's...

It's important that a student feels comfortable during tutorials so I welcome any sort of feedback or tips for improvement.

The more you incorporate the language into your everyday life, the more you become used it and the quicker you can remember words and phrases. I will definitely try and encourage a student to speak in the language for a bit of the sessionand this would also be a part of how I would measure a student's progress and their comfort levels during the sessions. Most of the time, I do tend to set a bit of homework which will help consolidate the student's knowledge and keep up the language between lessons.
