Degree: Physics & Philosophy (Bachelors) - Kings, London University
Hi all, I’m Stefan.
I am currently on my second year at King’s College London studying physics and philosophy. I am half German half American and spent the large majority of my life at the German school in New York. I have taught MUN style debating at my previous school for three years, and I am about to continue debating lessons at schools in London as part of the DebateMate team. This experience has taught me how to handle a complex idea and make it more accessible, a very useful skill both for teaching and learning.
My preferred learning method is to go beyond the textbook and find the source of what I am learning. The easiest way to learn a concept or an idea is to make it relevant to your surroundings and most importantly fun and interesting. I would encourage my students to learn in such a way as well.
Physics, among other things, is my passion. I took part in the Waterloo Math Contest and was awarded a medal for being top of the school. My record for physics and maths has been and still remains steady at an A-grade. I am a fluent German speaker and achieved an A-grade at A-level. I am able to have extensive conversations and debates and I am familiar with the GCSE/IGCSE and A-level curricula. ICT is a skill I developed both at school and at a consulting internship last summer. I am familiar with Word, Access, Excel, Powerpoint and the theory involved in the IGCSE course.
I am familiar with CIE and Edexcel examination boards but I have no difficulties to adapt to others on request.
Feel free to message me or to book a Meet The Tutor Session.
