About me

I am a second year student studying Human Sciences at UCL which is an interdisciplinary study that explores ‘What makes us human?’ through scientific and psychological perspectives, combined with an anthropological approach. Coupled with my multicultural background, this has equipped me with an in-depth understanding of the complex human interactions embedded in our dynamic society. I love my field of study because it lies on the border between the arts and sciences and hence, imposes no limits to my academic flexibility. Given my breadth of academic interests, and my extracurricular devotion to Drama, I have developed a myriad of skills ranging from analytical skills developed through my critical analysis in English Literature and Drama, quantitative skills applied to solving mathematical problems and a fundamental understanding and deep-rooted engagement with science. These skills are transferable to my approach to tutoring, through which I strive to engage my students and encourage a solid understanding of key concepts across these diverse subjects, making the most of my limited time with each and every student. I find it very rewarding to get a student excited about a subject and in turn, achieve results!

About my sessions

My lessons will begin by outlining what we will cover in each lesson in order to apply a structural framework to each lecture. I will prepare these lessons by revising the content relevant to the student's level of learning (i.e IGCSE or A-level) and producing concise notes that will prove useful for the student's learning. Then, I will compliment these with practice past-paper questions that we will work through together in order to ensure the student has understood and engaged with...

My lessons will begin by outlining what we will cover in each lesson in order to apply a structural framework to each lecture. I will prepare these lessons by revising the content relevant to the student's level of learning (i.e IGCSE or A-level) and producing concise notes that will prove useful for the student's learning. Then, I will compliment these with practice past-paper questions that we will work through together in order to ensure the student has understood and engaged with the material. By assigning short pieces of homework and regular tests the student will have the opportunity to actively practice their skills (because practice makes perfect!) and this will serve as a method of measuring their progress for me as well. I think making lessons engaging and interesting is essential to stimulate learning, as well as establishing a fundamental understanding and confidence with the material in the student.
