Degree: Psychology (Bachelors) - Sheffield University
Hi! I'm Ellie and I'm studying Psychology at the University of Sheffield.
One of the most successful ways to commit information to memory is to make the target material fun and relevant. As someone who is passionate about psychology and the debates it inspires, I aim to promote enjoyable discussion in my tutorials. Psychology is a very contemporary science and is regularly presented to us in the media, providing examples and arguments that are interesting and engaging for young people.
One of the key difficulties my peers and I found with AQA Psychology A level was retaining the sheer amount of information on which we could be tested, and I believe I can help students to overcome this issue by taking a highly structured and organised approach to my notes.
Additionally, since I have a strong interest in neuroscience, I feel I would be well equipped to assist anyone who feels that they do not fully understand the biological aspects of the syllabus.
Having worked in a primary school previously I've had experience of teaching (albeit with younger children!) which required many skills also necessary for tutoring, including patience - so there's no need to worry about getting things wrong.
