Hello I'm Beth!

I have a BSc in Comparative Pathology from the Royal Veterinary College, where I'm also currently in my 4th year studying Veterinary Medicine. I absolutely love my degree - it constantly allows me to stretch my biological and medical knowledge, as well as learning how to better communicate with people whilst working with some beautiful animals. Both my degrees have a heavy biological content, so I believe my knowledge is thorough and it's a subject I am very passionate about! I have had previous experience tutoring Music GCSE and giving guitar lessons, which have helped me to develop my teaching skills.

My education has involved taking lots of exams, so I know how daunting it can feel for students. At school, I really benefited from 1-1 tuition, helping me to achieve grades that I am proud of (10 A* GCSE, AAB A-Level, A* EPQ). I aim to help students improve their knowledge, learning technique and confidence in doing their best, just like my tutors and teachers have done for me.

Aside from my studies, I am a keen musician, which has provided me with a dedicated mindset and offers an outlet from my studies.

I strongly believe that having a good understanding of how to answer exam questions is just as important as knowing the content. I will introduce exam-style questions into every lesson to help consolidate knowledge, gradually building up the skill of being able to answer exam questions succinctly. Learning how to do this was something that really helped me through my own GCSEs and A-Levels. I can also advise students on developing revision techniques that work for them.

I also offer help with personal statements and applications for Veterinary Medicine/biological science-type degrees and Veterinary Medicine interview preparation.

I hope that my sessions will be fun, interesting and helpful ~ I look forward to teaching you!
