About me

I'm Rob, a 2nd year Maths Student currently on a gap year in my studies. After my first year on a very theoretical course in mathematics I found myself wondering a number of things; When am I going to use vector calculus when I'm working in an office? How can I apply what I've learned so far in the real world? Who's making coffee? The 2nd question at least I have answered. I've found that going back to my A-level and GCSE past and helping others in the learning process has...

I've found that going back to my A-level and GCSE past and helping others in the learning process has allowed me to look on that material in a new perspective, and I find myself teaching the material as if I never stopped studying it. It has given me renewed enthusiasm, as with every hour spent helping other students I gain a sense of professional achievement in improving grades whilst cultivating communication and problem solving skills for both Tutor and Tutees. So if calculus has got you thinking, graphs are giving you grief, or complex numbers are just too complex, then look no further than me. I can help!

About my sessions

I will always be available through the website to contact so we can schedule sessions easily and communicate outside of tutorials in order to prepare the structure of each session to suit you best, without wasting time in the valuable hours we are studying. My tutorials are in 3 parts, beginning with a review of progress and key areas of improvement, followed by answering of any pressing questions brought forth by tutees, and ending with the main part of the session, which is very much a rigo...

I will always be available through the website to contact so we can schedule sessions easily and communicate outside of tutorials in order to prepare the structure of each session to suit you best, without wasting time in the valuable hours we are studying. My tutorials are in 3 parts, beginning with a review of progress and key areas of improvement, followed by answering of any pressing questions brought forth by tutees, and ending with the main part of the session, which is very much a rigorous but patient revision session delivered through graphic demonstrations and questions both walked through by me and attempted alone by tutees. However I am very flexible and will adapt however I need to in order to suit the needs of each individual. As long as a student comes to me with time and a willingness to learn, I will not see him or her sit a maths exam unprepared!
