About me

I have tutored before, Italian and French children as well as English ones! I spent  month in Switzerland as a personal tutor to an Italian family, teaching English and French, and I understand how hard it is to learn a language, and especially two at once! My main goal is to get the student speaking the target language during the tutorials, and to improve their confidence. Writing skills are important, but the ability to know if something sounds right is key.

I have had a few tutors myself and I understand how hard it can be to keep up if a topic doesn't seem to make sense, or if the teacher can't explain it in a way that suits the individual student, and I am happy to spend time discussing which learning style suits each student best. I am also happy to set and mark homework and go over it, provided that it doesnt get in the way of the student's school work!

Availability - Weekday afternoons and evenings, Weekend afternoons or late mornings (10-12).

In addition to the times above, I will make an effort to be free at any time if there is a specific need for a tutorial or if the student urgently needs help with a certain topic.

Edward was great help in assisting my daughter attain an A* in A2 Italian. He was particularly excellent in focusing on the research based essay (La vita è bella), and reinforced her knowledge of Italian grammar through extension exercises.

Edward has given my son consistently good advice and also sourced material for him to practice. His French teacher is very impressed with progress after he achieved an A in his assessment. Thanks very much for your clear and professional guidance Edward.
