About me

Hello! I am a student at Durham University studying Music and French on the Liberal Arts course, but the Channel Island of Guernsey is my home. Hello! I am a student at Durham University studying Music and French on the Liberal Arts course, but the Channel Island of Guernsey is my home. I am currently on a year abroad in France, where I spent 7 months in St Quentin as an English assistant in a primary school, and I am now working for a company in Caen. I love my university course because it allows me to study two subjects that I am passionate about, whilst developing independent research skills and a real thirst for knowledge. Outside the course, there are so many opportunities to get involved with a range of activities that enrich my learning and my life in general! Musically, I have played violin in the university Orchestral Society (and was secretary for the society last year); have sung soprano in the university Chamber Choir and Hatfield Chapel Choir; and played saxophone in my college Big Band. I am also a member of the French society and am loving experiencing French life here in St Quentin. I'm a big believer in work-life balance so I think that it's important to find a happy medium between studying hard and taking time to reward yourself by doing things you enjoy. Hopefully, we'll be able to fuse studying and enjoyment to fuel your interest for French or Music. I look forward to meeting you!

About my sessions

All students are different so it is essential to structure the tutorials to meet individual needs. All students are different so it is essential to structure the tutorials to meet individual needs. Therefore, I think that it is important that students have an input into their learning, identifying areas that they would like to work on. Alternatively, working methodically through a revision guide using worksheets and supplementary information from other sources is a sound way of ensuring that all topics are covered. I believe that feedback is key to improvement and I especially like the 2 stars and a wish method. This gives students two pieces of positive feedback to encourage their learning, and something to improve on for next time to help stretch them. In my opinion, school would be boring without a challenge so I hope to be able to help you reach new heights and unlock your true potential!
