Currently studying a masters in biomedical science at Cardiff Uni. Learning about the human body and the way it works really interests me because you get to know what's going on inside yourself! Biology was my favorite subject in school and I am very passionate about it. I enjoyed revising for exams, I love to make 'pretty' notes so that they are easy to revise from. For me, using pictures and annotated diagrams is the best way to learn. I am a visual learner and I think it makes it easier to grasp things if it is explained in pictures rather than just words. To help my tutees improve I don't mind taking time to draw diagrams and explaining them. I am armed with examples and past paper questions on all topics. I understand the importance of sticking to a specification and having a high level of organisation to my notes and revision. I will teach from the exam board specification of the tutee to make sure that we don't miss any subject areas out and that they are fully prepared for the exam. The most important thing for me is that the tutee gains something valuable from the tutorial session, which will ultimately help them be successful in their exams.

About my sessions

The way I will structure my tutorials is down to the student, we will do what ever is best to help them learn. At the start of the tutorial I will always listen to the student to find out what they need help with and we will go from there. I will spend time before the tutorial preparing materials. At the start of the tutorial I will always listen to the student to find out what they need help with and we will go from there. I will spend time before the tutorial preparing materials. For example, drawing diagrams to help me explain a concept. I will research the exam board's style of exams, looking at past papers and putting together practice questions that we can work through together so students have experience of how to answer questions correctly to gain the full amount of marks. This will also be a way for me to measure students progress and see how they are coming along. Most importantly, my tutorials will not be boring! I know from experience that there is nothing worse than being stuck in a classroom listening to a teacher talking in a monotone. It makes it very easy to lose attention and for your mind to wonder. I will make sure that my tutorials are interesting and captivating, something different from the normal classroom experience.

I went from a grade 5 to an 8 in my chemistry gcse and also a grade 6 to an 8 in biology. Molly was very patient with me and explained things well. She was also kind and increased my confidence. I highly recommend her if your looking for help with these subjects.

My daughter started her Biology and Chemistry sessions with Molly probably around March time in year 9. Due to being in a lower ability class, there is a lot of disruptive behaviour in her class at school and I felt some intervention was required! She had several sessions with Molly from then until her end of year exams in June and did rather well in them, especially Chemistry, in which she came top of class. Molly has given Amelie alot of support and broken topics down to a level she can understand. She has given her confidence and more importantly Molly has taken away her expectation to fail. She is in year 10 now and we have just restarted again with Molly
