About Me: Hello! My name is Chloe and I am currently in my 3rd year at Durham University, where I am studying English Literature. I have been tutoring with MyTutorWeb for almost three years, and have experience of tutoring all year groups and abilities. I am attentive, positive, and academic. I am also practical, responsible and patient. My friends say that I am approachable and have a good sense of humour, so I will try to make revision interesting and as enjoyable as possible. Specialist help: Creative Writing: I am passionate about poetry and spoken word, and have performed my own poetry at leading arts' venues such as Camden's Roundhouse and Shoreditch's Richmix. I am President of Durham's Poetry Society and also present my own radio show, which focuses on spoken word. I am happy to help with any Creative Writing projects, and give advice if you are looking to enter competitions, or simply want to be introduced to new writers. IB: I am incredibly experienced in tutoring and working with the IB. Not only have I completed the Diploma myself, but I also did the Middle Years Programme (in addition to some IGCSE qualifications). Furthermore, I have written several times for the IB Review on, amongst others, Philosophy SL, the Extended Essay, and English HL. I have also worked with the IB in organising conferences and workshops. So if you're struggling with IB English, or the IB more generally, I'm the tutor for you! Personal Statements: My experience as a writer and editor has enabled me to give great feedback on Personal Statements. I have also attended several workshops and conferences regarding Personal Statements, meaning that I am incredibly well-versed in how to structure a Personal Statement for several different subjects (though English is obviously my speciality). What happens next?: If you are interested in working with me, then you can book a Meet The Tutor session, which is a free 15-minute consultation that enables us both to find out a bit more about each other. Feel free to message me if you have any questions about my tutorials, or about MyTutorWeb more generally, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. I look forward to meeting you soon!
About my sessions
What would a tutorial with me be like? The answer to this question is driven by what you want from tutoring. In my experience, the best possible way you can improve your grades is by doing practice questions, and in my tutorials I will work with you on how to choose and prepare for questions. Additionally, I am happy to mark and provide detailed feedback on your written work, as I have a great deal of editing experience from my work with various publications. At the end of our tutorials, I'll discuss with you what we'll cover next, and, based on your workload, set you some homework.
