About me

I'm a Third Year Geography student at the University of Edinburgh. I love all things human geography, from population and migration to health and inequalities. I'm hoping one day to become a Geography or Maths teacher, and am using this as an opportunity to improve my teaching abilities and help improve students knowledge and learning abilities!

I've spent the past three summers working closely with kids at a summer camp in Maine, USA, and before this I worked as an intern at a school in Singapore teaching netball and volleyball for six months. I love working with kids and being able to watch them grow, improve and finally reach that WOW moment when everything clicks.

I do netball, canoe and trampolining at University and love to talk and share about my experiences of all of them. Being at University, I am still working and perfecting my learning and revision techniques and would love to give you some tips and tricks in order to help you ace your exams and find them that little bit less scary!

About my sessions

I will work diligently to create a lesson plan that pinpoints the areas in which you as the student need most help and encouragement. I will use online resources as well as any textbooks or worksheets that I can get my hands on! I plan to measure progress through small (and hopefully fun) quizzes and quickfire questions every other tutor session.

I want to hear from you, the student, what you enjoy the most and what you think you need the most help with in order to interweave both aspects so you are able to have an enjoyable and constructive experience. For me, enjoyment is one of the most important things to encourage learning. Additionally, I think achieving small goals is also essential, so that you can see yourself improving and be proud of yourself. Hopefully this will keep you motivated and stimulated!
