About me

After having achieved A*s in all my A-levels as well as 98% in the Classics Admissions Test (CAT), I have gone on to acheive the highest mark in Classics Course II at Oxford moderations, receiving the De Paravicini prize. After having achieved A*s in all my A-levels as well as 98% in the Classics Admissions Test (CAT), I have gone on to acheive the highest mark in Classics Course II at Oxford moderations, receiving the De Paravicini prize. Being used to speaking to professors one-on-one myself I structure my lessons like tutorials, encouraging students to voice their own ideas, interpretations of texts, and methods of problem solving. I have tutored for over four years privately, as well as worked for Oxford University on multiple summer programmes. Thus, you can rest assured that not only am I a good tutor but I also sincerely enjoy what I do and would love to encourage others to do the same. As a student of Ancient Greek, I have achieved the top marks in my year (of ~80 pupils) on end of term examinations, but also devote my time to philosophy both ancient and modern through running a philosophy discussion group, being an active member of the Oxford Union (Oxford’s debating society), and a part of the Effective Altruism community; attempting to apply what I have learnt in philosophy to bettering the ‘real world’.

About my sessions

Philosophy: As an Oxford student used to the tutorial system, I have a discussion-focused teaching style. Students are expected to discuss essays they have written, or argue for a given position. If wished for, I can also explain concepts and their faults and merits to give an overview of a particular area.

If wished for, I can also explain concepts and their faults and merits to give an overview of a particular area.

Ancient Greek: To ensure that students fully understand the language, I use both reading and composition in my lessons, along with clear explanations of the grammatical principles, linking them to features in English as well as any other languages that the student may be aware of.

Oxbridge Preparation: I give feedback on style and grammar of personal statements, as well as whether the content matches exactly what Oxbridge tutors are looking for. I also arrange mock interviews with current Oxford students doing your course or a similar one.
