Degree: Physics (Masters) - Oxford, Oriel College University
Hi, my name is Matthew and I study physics at Oxford. My aims as a tutor are to help students enjoy learning, to develop their understanding and to help them become more confident in handling problems through the use of examples. From my own experience, I understand the pressures of exams and will do my best to help students achieve the grades they want.
At school I achieved A*s in all ten of my GCSEs and attained the top mark in CCEA Additional Mathematics. In the past I have tutored classmates and family members on an informal basis. I have gained an insight into which topics pupils find difficult in physics through interviews I conducted at a local secondary school as part of my university course.
Before each tutorial session I will endeavour to prepare thoroughly and feel I can offer insight on exam and learning techniques. I am enthusiastic about my subject as well as friendly and patient.
