About me

Hi! My name is Will and I'm a first year undergraduate at Oxford studying Maths. Maths is important for two reasons:

-It helps us to understand the world we live in and solve the most important problems that we face, from climate change to financial stability to medicine to engineering

-You have to retake your GCSE maths if you don't pass!

-It helps us to understand the world we live in and solve the most important problems that we face, from climate change to financial stability to medicine to engineering

-You have to retake your GCSE maths if you don't pass!

The second reason is a bit of a joke, but it's true nonetheless. My passion and aptitude for maths can help you improve, whether you are a student in year 9 who finds maths difficult and needs help solidifying the basics or whether you are applying to a top university for Maths and need help preparing for an interview or entrance test. I am in my first year at university so I am fresh out of the system; I was a part of the first cohort to take the new GCSE and the new A-Level. This means that I know what the examiners are looking for, and what it takes to achieve the top grades. The same applies for university applications. The UCAS process is long and gruelling (trust me, I remember!) and it's even worse when you are applying for a course with an entrance test/ interview stage. I can help you to be completely prepared for your interview or entrance exam.

On a more personal note, in my free time I enjoy playing cricket and regularly attend talks and debates at the Oxford Union. If you have any further questions, please do get in contact with me. I will be happy to help!

About my sessions

Each tutorial will have structure, but will at the same time be very flexible to the needs of the student. Some students learn best from seeing examples, some learn best from having concepts explained to them to gain a deeper understanding of the topic and some learn best using a combination of these two things. The tutorials will be tailored to your personal needs. A typical tutorial will cover some or all of the following:

The tutorials will be tailored to your personal needs. A typical tutorial will cover some or all of the following:

-Exam technique

-Explanations of concepts

-Example questions

-Common mistakes/misconceptions

I have lots of experience tutoring all sorts of students which has taught me that there is no 'one size fits all' tutorial. I can adapt to your needs, whatever they may be!
