My academic studies have allowed me to better my understanding of advanced mathematics, industrial processes and commercial awareness, all of which supplement the subjects that I am offering for tutoring. In addition to this, I am currently writing revision guides for A-Level students, whilst aiding my younger siblings in their mathematics revision for their upcoming A-Level and GCSE examinations. Having been at Exeter for 4 years and successfully helped previous MyTutor tutees to achieve their ambitions, I have developed rigorous revision regimes that have a proven track record of success.

During Sixth Form I learnt that hard work was the key behind performing well both academically and in the world of work, and this is something that I encourage in my teaching. Having been a member of a Univeristy Liaison Committee and delivered multiple presentations to boards of directors, I have developed communication skills that allow me to converse in a professional manner. Due to my academic drive and communication professionalism, I am in a strong position to deliver high quality tutorials to tutees with the same dedication that I applied to my own studies.

About my sessions

These are the processes that will be undertaken during the tutorial:

Identification of Problem: I will allow the student the opportunity to identify any topics that they are struggling with, giving me the opportunity to target a specific area in which the tutee is lacking understanding. It often helps for the tutee to bring an example question that they are struggling with, in order to clearly see where the difficulty lies.

Learning the Process: Upon finding where the greatest attention is needed, I will either carry out a short tutorial in order to cover all bases of knowledge, or should this be unnecessary, I will complete a practice question in conjunction with the tutee in order to display the correct process behind answering the question.

Practice: The tutee will then attempt a question on their own. This will allow them to test what they know and bring that fresh knowledge to the forefront of their mind. This concentration will allow them to cement the process into their memory.

I am a great advocate of learning a process, then carrying out multiple examples. Should this be completed within the allotted time, the tutee may choose to start a different topic, or complete more questions with myself. Upon request, I can issue a self-study pack after the tutorial for them to complete after the session.
