About me

Hello parents and students!

Hello parents and students!

I am currently a second year student at the London School of economics, pursing a degree in Economics. I stand out among the other economists from my university as I have not studied economics before starting my degree. With a set of A-Levels set on the sciences, it was a shock even to myself that I eventually pursued a social science degree, drawn to economics due to its diversity and complexity.

My focused experience in the maths and sciences means that I have mastered logical thinking and puzzle solving, but my transition to economics means that I have become versatile and is rich in skills such as essay writing, reading and critical analysis skills. Both my transferable and subject specific skills I wish to transfer to students as I believe they are key to a better and deeper understanding for all areas of studies and life.

In addition to having many study skills, the presentation of these skills on paper is also extremely important. I have applied to both grammar schools for my A-Level studies and also to Oxbridge and Russell Universities for my degree levels. My success each time did not come from the conventional tips that teachers all give-in fact, I believe some of these common must dos are actually derogatory to a personal statement. I hope to share my own valuable tips on the applications and how to make yours stand out from the rest.

About my sessions

The pursuit of education is ultimately an individual challenge. I strongly believe that a firm grasp of the fundamental elements of a subject and to understand the question of why first and foremost, is key to the success of further knowledge accumulation.

The pursuit of education is ultimately an individual challenge. I strongly believe that a firm grasp of the fundamental elements of a subject and to understand the question of why first and foremost, is key to the success of further knowledge accumulation.

First lesson will pinpoint and solve areas in which the student wishes to focus on. I wish students will come prepared to this with existing questions and have an idea of areas in which they feel they need guidance with. A plan will be drawn on which topics to cover and how best to present the material for each individual student. Also, because learning is an individual experience, active engagement is necessary for students to draw the most out of my lessons.

Subsequent lessons will begin with student’s own questions and those I will have previously set. If possible, students should sent me their answers to these questions the day before the lesson so that I am prepared with explanation of where the student is strongest and weakest. Further questions and explanations will follow, specific to the planned schedule.

All in all, I wish that my lessons to be tailored to each individual student and that the student will be actively and critically engaged because of my firm believe that the educational journey is an individual one.
