About me

I completed an Integrated Masters at Imperial College in Chemical Engineering – which unlike the name suggests, is not just solely focused on Chemistry. I completed an Integrated Masters at Imperial College in Chemical Engineering – which unlike the name suggests, is not just solely focused on Chemistry. A chemical engineer has a wide range of knowledge from physics and chemistry to microbiology, economics and applied mathematics. I like to think we are the ones that bring science to life! The fact that chemical engineering is so varied is why I love it so much – one day you could be designing a more environmentally friendly process to help tackle climate change, the next you could be researching nanoparticles to combat cancer!

As a person, I have always been very inquisitive and curious. I love to get stuck into new experiences and learn as much as I can along the way. Since I can remember I have always enjoyed school and felt fortunate to have the opportunity to learn about new things and how they work. Exams would often be very daunting but I would always try to treat them as a challenge, as a chance to test myself and the knowledge I had gained so far.

Currently I am training to be a Pilot in the Royal Navy and have been away from MyTutor for just over a year. However I'm now at a stage in my career where I have a little bit more free time; I have always loved the tutoring so much that I want to give it another go!

About my sessions

For me, preparation and planning is essential – confidence plays a big role when taking exams as they can often be a nerve-racking experience so it’s important to feel like you have prepared as best as you can to help ease the nerves and perform at your highest level.

For me, preparation and planning is essential – confidence plays a big role when taking exams as they can often be a nerve-racking experience so it’s important to feel like you have prepared as best as you can to help ease the nerves and perform at your highest level.

I am a big fan of learning by doing, so I will try to use as many practical scenarios as possible to help you learn. But theory is also a very important aspect, and I am very happy to break down any harder to understand concepts you might have.

Keeping it organised. We will closely follow your syllabus and make sure you are confident with all the topics required. This will help me in preparing for tutorials and making the most out of your time. Make a checklist with each concept you need to know and put an asterisk next to the ones you struggle with the most, for example, to run through these during the sessions.

I will make the sessions as entertaining as possible because, at the end of the day, learning is supposed to be fun. Once you start to see results and understand more and more, you will see it becomes a very rewarding process. I will be sure to ask feedback from you, as it will help me to understand your learning preferences, trying to focus the sessions on a learning strategy that suits you!
