About me

I am a fourth year Physics MSci student at University College London and I believe I am studying the most exciting subjects in the world - physics, mathematics and a bit of chemistry. I have been fascinated by natural sciences since my childhood as I could not stop watching videos on YouTube about spectacular experiments. Of course, I wanted to try those so I literally started building my lab in the backyard from whatever I could find or buy. What makes me love natural sciences is that by get...

I have been fascinated by natural sciences since my childhood as I could not stop watching videos on YouTube about spectacular experiments. Of course, I wanted to try those so I literally started building my lab in the backyard from whatever I could find or buy. What makes me love natural sciences is that by getting to know more and more with time, the knowledge can be applied to make the world a better more exciting place. My other big motivation is that when I do some research, I know that it has never been done before and my findings may be used by someone in the future.

In my free time, I really like doing sports, I play tennis for the UCL team and I also enjoy running. Another interest of mine is anything connected to aviation.

About my sessions

I believe the best, most reliable knowledge is a self-sustained, intuitive one, that will help you even in the most stressful situation, like writing an exam. In other words, gaining a high level of understanding of the concepts is much better than memorising.

I believe the best, most reliable knowledge is a self-sustained, intuitive one, that will help you even in the most stressful situation, like writing an exam. In other words, gaining a high level of understanding of the concepts is much better than memorising.

In order to achieve this, my tutorials usually have 3 main points, however, I find it important to adapt this method as much as possible to the learning style you prefer:

1) Testing the required preliminary knowledge by a few excercises (laying foundations if the preliminaries are not met)

2) Going through a new topic, encouraging you to ask questions and challenge what I say

3) Problem solving, at first typical exam questions, than problems connected to real life

I believe, the best way I can encourage students is to show them what they already know and what can they achieve with this. I find that someone, who is confident in something also gets self-motivated by time, which is extremely important when one is preparing for an examination or for university studies.

Abel helped me prepare for my Physical chemistry exam in which I got a 1st! He is a fantastic tutor - extremely knowledgeable, understanding and flexible. He would always go the extra mile to help me and would even write ad-hoc exercises for me. Thanks to him, I finally understood topics that I've always struggled with.

I'm going to have no choice but to leave a lot of reviews, because I'm contracting Abel for the long term, and MyTutor.co.uk regularly asks for reviews after n-amount of sessions. Throughout the next two months, I'm going to be needing help nearly every day to do some catchup work in college. I have Abel contracted for 2 hours nearly every day...and never have I met anyone with the kind of kindness, patience, and thoroughness that gives me the positive experience I need to keep grinding my way through the frustrating parts of math, giving me confidence where I doubt myself, and more. Absolutely fantastic teacher; I'd recommend him to anyone.
