Degree: Economics, French, Politics (Bachelors) - Durham University
Assisting with teaching maths and english in primary schools in Oxfordshire has given me fundamental experience. I expanded upon this through travelling to Jambiani, Zanzibar and teaching english as a foreign language to young students. Verbal communication was restricted as there was no communal language and so I came to rely on more interactive teaching methods which I feel would be applicable to tutoring with MyTutorWeb.
I am hugely passionate about Economics, Maths and French (the subjects which I am studying at Durham university.) When tutoring, I would first cover the theory and then develop understanding through exploring applied problems - this encourages independent thinking and prepares the student for questions they are very likely to experience in their examinations.
My interest in both mathematically based subjects and languages gives me a different insight to both the subject areas. With mathematics it is often necessary to think creatively in order to answer more demanding questions. Furthermore, there is a high degree of logic necessary for languages - particularly when mastering grammar.
My availability for tutoring is as follows: Monday: 2pm-8pm, Wednesday: 2pm-7pm, Friday: 10am-7pm, Saturday: 2pm-7pm, Sunday: 2pm-7pm
