About me

I am a bubbly and enthusiastic person and would be described as friendly and approachable, attributes which I hope would make the student comfortable enough to ask questions and engage with the session. I am currently a 1st year medical student and through my experience of applying to university and doing exams I have learnt that preparation is key, which I think means going through topics that you find challenging as and when they come up to reduce stress closer to the exams. I am academically driven and have a curiosity to learn, especially about the functions of the human body. I have previous experience tutoring Maths, English and Biology up to GCSE level for the past 2 years as well as mentoring people who are looking to apply to medicine. Having studied biology and now being a medical student I feel I also have the strong base of knowledge in biology needed to tutor up to A-level.I am patient which also means that I am happy to go over things as many times as needed and adapt the explanation method in order to help the student understand.

About my sessions

Crucially the lesson time will be suited to the student, focusing on going at a pace that they’re comfortable with. I would like to end topics with a short quiz/summary session to check the level of comprehension and ensure the student is now happy with that topic, in doing so we can also identify areas wh...

Crucially the lesson time will be suited to the student, focusing on going at a pace that they’re comfortable with. Our introductory session would centre around prioritising the topics being studied, with the most challenging coming first and progressing to the least challenging and most well understood. I would like to end topics with a short quiz/summary session to check the level of comprehension and ensure the student is now happy with that topic, in doing so we can also identify areas which require a little more explanation and challenge the student to improve beyond their current level. Having interactive and engaging sessions will encourage learning and keep the student engaged despite finding something difficult. If you need sessions for preparation for medical school then I would be happy to do an introductory session with you to see where you currently are and where you would like to be headed. Sessions would include interview practice, how to ace that all important personal statement and looking at where is best for you to apply considering your strengths.

Hope to hear from you. Thank you

I find Seyta's lessons very clear and very helpful. Her teaching method is structured for the student and ensures, using questions and diagrams, that the student understood the topic.
