Hi,
My name is Natalie and I am a university student studying Psychology. I took psychology, chemistry and maths for my A levels, and achieved an A* in each of these three subjects. For my GCSE's I achieved 9 A*'s and 1 A, and I am extremely passionate in helping other GCSE/A level students achieve the same. Hi,
My name is Natalie and I am a university student studying Psychology. I took psychology, chemistry and maths for my A levels, and achieved an A* in each of these three subjects. For my GCSE's I achieved 9 A*'s and 1 A, and I am extremely passionate in helping other GCSE/A level students achieve the same. I understand the stress and challenges of undertaking exams these days, and as a tutor, I believe that everyone is capable of reaching their full potential if they put their mind to it.
I have tutored GCSE maths and sciences in the past, and along with this tutoring experience and my own experience of revising for exams, I have the ability to really help students to perservere and never give up. In order to help students to do well, I use my psychological knowledge of how people learn best to push them in the right direction. In my sessions, I will incorporate a student's ideal learning style (whether it be auditory/visual/verbal/physical) so that they have the best chance of understanding the content.
Studying psychology has really aided me in understanding how people learn, as well as how they can retain such information in their long term memory so that they do not forget anything in exams. This is achieved by my method of tutoring alongside my patience and enthusiasm which really helps students to achieve nothing but their best in their GCSE's/A levels.
In order to understand a student's ideal learning style, I will begin my programme by asking them a few questions about how they learn best so that I can work out the best ways to teach them. Their learning style will be an important factor in how I deliver my tutorials, as I cater my sessions to the needs of each individual student.
Sessions will include me teaching students the content that they need help with so that they fully understand everything in their syllabus. At the end...
At the end of each tutorial, I will test them on everything we have covered so that I can be certain that they are 100% clear on what has been taught. This information will be reinforced in the beginning of the next tutorial to ensure that such content has been retained in their long term memory.
As a psychology student, I know that students must understand the meaning of information in order for it to stay in their long term memory, and that they must rehearse this information frequently so that it is not forgotten. Therefore, I will keep testing students on information I have taught them, and I will measure progress by how easily they are able to answer such exam style questions.
To encourage learning and to ensure that students remain motivated, I keep my tutorials interesting and informative. I believe that the best way to engage students is to show them their progression as by doing this, they will see how far they have come since they started being tutored.
