About me

Hello everyone!

My name is Anuradha (you can call me Anu), and I am a Physics Undergrad at Durham. I have always had a “thing” for science and am so pleased to be studying it – and hope that I can give you all the support you need to really gain the understanding required to do well! I’ve also got a lot of experience with music theory and the 11+ exams, so give me a shout if you’d like help with these too. I aim to show the world that anyone – regardless of gender or background - can ace STEM subjects, and make science accessible for everyone!

I have 2 years of experience in tutoring and have worked in science communication for 3 years now, so my job is to make science a bit easier to grasp (the key to doing well in science is understanding the basics and applying them in context) and so am more than happy to help you break down any topics that are difficult to you. I’m also more than happy to push you to your limits to ensure you do as well as you can!

The Sessions

The sessions will be designed to make sure your foundation understanding is solid, and once it is, practice will be the key to success. We can design a structure for answering questions as well as for your revision, and I will be more than happy to pass on the revision techniques I used.

I am more than happy to try different techniques until you are satisfied with your understanding, and will try and make sure that the sessions are as fun as possible – shouldn’t be too hard given that science, maths and music are all amazing!

Can you help me with UCAS?

Absolutely. I help students to train for interviews and to write their personal statements and have been doing so for 3 years now – I have lots of tried and tested tips and tricks that work for most if not all subjects, and some STEM particular advice. University applications can be so daunting but I had so much fun during the process and want to make sure you do too!

What next?

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them in the MeetTheTutor session or send me a WebMail – and please do mention your exam board and anything you’d like to focus on.

I look forward to meeting you!

What is convection?

Convection is a heat transfer process that occurs in fluids. During convection, hot, less dense fluids rise to the top of a system, while cooler, more dense fluids sink to the bottow of the system under gravity.
