Having tutored maths for just over two years now, I’m now able to think on my feet in terms of teaching approaches and techniques to suit students of all ages, capabilities and learning styles.
I did Edexcel Maths & Further Maths (and an extra M3 Module) at A-Levels and received A*'s for both subjects. In year 11, I also studied Additional Maths and Statistics qualifications and received A/A* for both!
Mathematics has always been a strength of mine and teaching has always been a passion. In order to fully understand a piece of mathematics, I believe no short cuts are to be taken. Students need to learn not only what the solution to a question is, but also the style of thinking required to get there in the first place.
Seeing younger students have such passion, commitment and dedication to improving in maths makes me incredibly happy; being a part of that process makes me proud.
Having stayed at an Orphanage in Bosnia, volunteered at a Sports club for children with disabilities/impairments, and worked for six weeks at a children’s summer camp, I believe I will be an approachable, friendly tutor who will bring out the most of my students’ potential.
