About me

Having tutored maths for over 5 years now, I’m now able to think on my feet in terms of teaching approaches and techniques to suit students of all ages, capabilities and learning styles.

I studied for Edexcel Maths & Further Maths (and an extra M3 Module) at A-Levels and received A*'s for both subjects. In year 11, I also studied Additional Maths and Statistics qualifications and received A and A*, respectively.

Mathematics has always been a strength of mine and teaching has always been a passion. In order to fully understand a piece of mathematics, I believe no short cuts are to be taken. Students need to learn not only what the solution to a question is, but also the style of thinking required to get there in the first place.

Seeing younger students have such passion, commitment and dedication to improving in maths makes me incredibly happy; being a part of that process makes me proud.

Having stayed at an Orphanage in Bosnia, volunteered at a Sports club for children with disabilities/impairments, and worked for six weeks at a children’s summer camp, I believe I will be an approachable, friendly tutor who will bring out the most of my students’ potential.

About my sessions

Sessions will be tailored for each individual student. I will plan lessons by firstly finding out what the student knows already in a specific topic, and then working accordingly. We can start from scratch or skip parts that the student has demonstrated a strong understanding in. The best way to practice is through questions, so I will guide students through some worked examples of various difficulties and also set homework to measure how the student works independently.

I try my best to make the lessons interactive and fun! Most importantly, students can stop me at ANY time to ask questions or revisit some topics you weren't too clear on. I plan lessons based on how much time we have and how much content needs to be covered in that time, but I always leave enough redundancy time just to count for certain topics taking longer than planned. That way, it's never a rush as we approach exams!

I'll do my absolute best to take on feedback and tailor the lessons as specifically to each individual's preferences! If there's anything else I can answer, send over a message or Meet-Tutor request and I'll be more than happy to help :)
