About me

From as early as I can remember I’ve always loved maths. In my opinion, maths teaches you so much more than basic arithmetic skills; it allows you to build on your logic and reasoning and that’s what I hope I can teach you in the long run. I took my GCSE maths a year early and spent year 11 doing statistics and additional maths (which has similar topics to the new GCSE syllabus). With top grades in all of these, I went on to study maths and further maths at A Level, giving me lots of experien...

With top grades in all of these, I went on to study maths and further maths at A Level, giving me lots of experience with different exam boards and exam styles.

I’m now studying a variety of branches of mathematics at university, including mechanics, coding and statistics, enabling me to help with any problems across all topics. I have experience tutoring, being a personal tutor for two years for maths and English and volunteering at my local primary school. I have really enjoyed both of these experiences and look forward to carry on teaching by passing my maths skills on to you.

About my sessions

Maths is about so much more than knowing formulas – it’s about understanding the method and thinking behind it, which is what I’ll aim to help you with during our tutorials. Once you’ve understood any topics you’re struggling with I’ll work through a few examples until you feel confident enough to do them independently. Having a question or topic you don’t understand is never a problem; working through it is what improves your understanding and mathematical skills. Whilst studying for my own...

Whilst studying for my own GCSEs and then A Levels I always found that talking about a problem out loud with someone helped me understand it better, so my aim is to get you to the level of understanding where you feel able to teach someone else.
