About me

About me:

I'm a student at the University of Southampton, just about to finish my degree in physics with photonics as well as an experienced private tutor. I've always had a desire to learn more about they way the world worked, and that reflects my career and education. Physics and Maths are tough, but with a little work they can be very enjoyable and rewarding!

What I can do for you:

Whether you need a bit of help with your homework, something you're stuck on, or whether you would like one-to-one teaching for an entire course - I'm here to help.

I can teach all GCSE and A level (and equivalent) Physics and Maths courses.

The way to tell that a student has fully understood a topic is for them to be able to teach it to another person. I try to ensure that my students know the physical concepts and mathematics behind a topic, and how to write exactly what an examiner would like to hear in your exams and coursework.

In a typical session with me, I will identify and fill in gaps in your knowledge and understanding, coach you through several examples, and reinforce your knowledge. I will leave you with revision and further practice material to work on in your own time after our session.

I understand that everyone learns in their own way, so I try to be very flexible in my teaching methods. Feel free to ask me to tailor your tuition to your specific needs and objectives.

My experience:

As for qualifications and experience; I have almost completed a BSc in Physics with Photonics. I have tutored many students on a weekly basis for the last 3 years, and in several cases, boosted their grades from failing to achieving almost top marks. I have completed courses on classroom teaching in secondary schools, in addition to hundreds of hours of work in outreach and public engagement, teaching physics in schools, exhibitions, laser shows and lectures around England. I have an enhanced DBS/CRB certificate, used for teaching in schools, which you may request to see.

To request tuition:

Feel free to ask to meet me, and get to know me. It's a good idea to message me with exactly what you would like tuition for, so I can prepare a tuition session for you.
