I'm an Economics student at UCL, taking modules in Mathematics, Pure Economics, Statistics, History of Economic Thought and International Relations.

I've taken both A-levels and GCSEs, so I'm completely aware of the process and unfortunately the stress that comes with it!

With applying to universities and taking exams, I think the absolute best thing you can do is keep practising and use repetition as a tool to help you learn.

Outside of Economics, I love to bake and rack up my Netflix hours!

About my sessions

What worked for me was not only looking through my notes & "example answers" but more importantly doing timed answers to questions, even if they were out of my textbooks! There is almost always more than one way of looking at a problem, and the important thing is finding an approach that works for you as an individual.

What worked for me was not only looking through my notes & "example answers" but more importantly doing timed answers to questions, even if they were out of my textbooks! There is almost always more than one way of looking at a problem, and the important thing is finding an approach that works for you as an individual.

My teaching method mainly consists of tackling basic questions then moving onto more advanced processes, continuously testing what has already been learned (so it doesn't disappear!). I tend to follow the structure of a quick review of the previous sessions and going over any questions, before introducing the topic and having a go at some practice questions. I'm very happy to let the student crack on with a question if they feel confident, however, some students just need to have the question broken down a bit, which over time usually increases their confidence.

One crucial point is that I won't be with the student in the exam, so my focus is always on helping students learn the tools to dissect and answer the questions themselves, and build up a knowledge of practical skills. I will be teaching the student how to structure and present their answers for maximum credit, as many exam boards now require some form of proof or explanation of working.

Progress will be measured using mini-tests, which will be clearly explained and tailored to the student.
