About me

I am currently in my second year studying Law at the University of Warwick. I thoroughly enjoy that fact that Law is always evolving and changing, and that it is the foundation of our everyday lives.

I used to be an extremely nervous exam taker, to a point where it impacted my studies. Throughout the years, I have learnt different tricks that help me calm down around exam time, some of these tricks which I can do at the start of the academic year, and others; the day before an exam.

I used to be an extremely nervous exam taker, to a point where it impacted my studies. Throughout the years, I have learnt different tricks that help me calm down around exam time, some of these tricks which I can do at the start of the academic year, and others; the day before an exam.

I share these tips and tricks with my students which revolve around organisation and time management, to ensure that exam season is less stressful then they can imagine!

I can tutor in Law GCSE and Law A-Level. I can also help with personal statements and the LNAT.

About my sessions

Each session will differ, depending what the student would like to achieve from the session and their main end goal. For instance, some sessions will be revision based, on homework, or exam technique.

I tend to use basic diagrams and text in my tutorials, to not confuse the student and make sure they have a solid understanding before explaining the concept to them in more depth.

As law exams typically involve problem questions, when I reach this point with my student, I like to go through problem questions with them. We will use the tools on the online lesson space, to highlight and annotate. I find that most law students struggle with problem questions, therefore I have some tips and guidelines on how to plan problem question answers.

Also, when tackling essay questions I encourage students to express their personal opinion to ensure their answers stand out to examiners and gain top marks.

In addition, I focus heavily on the relevant exam boards specification for the subject, as this is the basic blueprint for what the student must learn. I use the specification to ask the student which areas of the subject they struggle with, so I can tailor my lessons around their needs. This makes sure that every session if efficient and effective.

If you have any other questions please feel free to message me or we can organise a free 15 minute meeting.

I managed to get an A* in my Law A-level and believe I owe it to Alex. I found her explanation and way of teaching helpful and interesting and believe these lessons gave me such a boost in law which I am really fortunate and thankful for.

My son Joe has just had his first lesson with Alex and was very impressed. Alex is well organised with great notes and Powerpoint slides which she sends to students as comprehensive notes after the lesson. I would highly recommend her.

Alex was teaching me Tort Law today and as well as verbally explaining used power-points and example questions that I could underline/interact with to help make things clearer and easier to understand.
