Hello! I am a second year student at the University of Bristol studying Economics and Finance. As part of my degree I study three main areas; mathematics, economics and accounting. I am also interested in law and so some law modules. I am also very interested in languages and I am going to Paris for two months this summer to study french at a language school.

Whilst studying for my math A-level exam I had a private tutor which helped to show me how beneficial tutoring is, both if you may struggle with a subject and want to improve or even if you are good at a subject and want to get even better to get top marks. I believe that the best way to learn maths is through practice questions. In my tutorials I will aim to cover the theory behind a topic and then work through examples before moving on to past exam questions.

My hobbies are skiing and travelling and have been fortunate enough to travel all around the world and most recently to South America. I am also extremely passionate about sport and I play squash for the university team! I also love to play football and cricket and I coach and manage the U15 cricket team for my local club in the summer months.

If you are interested in using me as a tutor then I am happy to have a video chat to discuss further. I look forward to hearing from you!

About my sessions

My priority when designing lessons is to find out what works for each student. Everyone has different styles of learning and people find different topics more challenging. Through my experience I believe that the best way to learn maths is through practise questions and past papers.

For me a typically lesson would start by going through the theory of the topic, followed by some examples which I will talk you through. From here I like to move onto some simple questions to get some practice and the once confident on the topic move onto exam questions to cement what we have learnt and put the theory into practice.

Throughout my tutorials I try to get the student talking as much as possible and talk me through their thinking as they answer each question so I can really gauge if they understand the concepts or not. I prefer them to do the talking as I personally find it very boring if I am been taught as just get talked to for an hour, so to me it is important for them to be answering questions and engaging themselves.
