Degree: Dental Surgery (Masters) - Leeds University
Who am I and what do I do?
Hi, i'm Tom and i'm studying Dental Surgery at Leeds University having studied Biology, Chemistry and French at A level.
Why do I want to be a tutor?
I remember how daunting the prospect of GCSEs were when I was working towards them and I would have appreciated any extra help I could get.
By being a tutor, i'll be able to help you out with any aspect of your GCSE work, whether that be a whole topic or one particular problem. You're the boss! I'll do my best to make your understanding and application of the subject as pain-free and enjoyable as possible and hopefully transfer some of my enthusiam of the subjects to you!
Studying dentistry, I am used to working with people of all ages and part of my job is to help them understand areas of science, health and disease that usually go beyond the scope of general public knowledge. I've learnt to break things down in to their simple components, build upon these and improve their understanding of these areas. I understand that patience and determination are key when studying for exams.
I've had lots of experience of working with people of all age groups in music ensembles, going to schools to give talks about dentistry and working in hospitals during my gap year.
My lessons will be tailored to your needs and I aim to make them as interactive as possible to keep you on your toes!
If you have any questions, feel free to email me or I'd be happy to have a 'Meet the Tutor' session to discuss anything with you.
My availibility is quite flexible, mainly evenings during the week and daytime during the weekend.
Hope to meet you soon!
