My course combines maths, physics and chemistry in equal measure so I'm constantly developing my knowledge across a very broad range of topics. Everything we've done so far has been an extension/development of the theories and ideas I was taught at A-Level so I'm still very much using maths, physics and chemistry A-Level content every day to help explain more complex concepts. During my final year at school I set up a revision clinic for anyone in my year group struggling with Maths A-Level and it was there I found how rewarding teaching people can be, especially when I started to see people's grades improving, and come results day more university offers being met. I hope I can use my knowledge base and skills set to help anyone who wants to improve, achieve their goals in school and prepare them for later life :)
My sessions will take one of two forms, the first would be more of a revision session where I would explain any concepts that my students had been taught in school but don't quite understand. The content of these sessions would be very flexible to meet the needs of the student and would also feature practice questions which I would prepare beforehand and work through during the session, to make sure the student fully grasps the content we had been discussing. The second type of session would be a teaching/learning session where I would have a set of particular topics that I would introduce to the student during our sessions. In either case, I've always found the best way of learning maths and science subjects is to put your knowledge to the test as that's the best way to measure progress, so I will always have a few example questions up my sleeve for every tutorial!
