Degree: Medicine (A100) (Bachelors) - Birmingham University
As you might have guessed, I have a real passion for science! I love to take apart the mechanics of the world around us, from the fundamentals of physics that hold the universe together, to the ingenious structures inside our very bodies that allow us to think, breathe, even live!
Why choose me?
Like anyone does, I really love telling people about the things that interest me. Tutoring gives me the opportunity to share my enthusiasm for science and maths with anyone who is willing to learn. Whether you really enjoy science and maths (in which case we have lots in common!) or can’t understand why anyone could possibly like them (in which case I hope to change your mind!), I welcome anyone who needs some extra tuition. Studying medicine at university has given me a strong appreciation for the applications of science to the real world, which has helped consolidate and broaden my understanding.
I believe it’s best to tailor the sessions around the student. Engaging the student and cementing their understanding are my top priorities and I am happy to adapt my teaching styles in any way to ensure that sessions are productive and enjoyable! I use a number of teaching techniques, including diagrams (which I find particularly useful for remembering complicated processes), test questions (helpful for exam technique and familiarisation) and asking you to explain a concept back to me.
