About me

I graduated in 2017 in English from Cambridge, where I achieved a double First, and in 2019 completed an MA at UCL in Renaissance Studies (literature and history from 1500-1700) with a Distinction. I studied a mixture of A-levels as I have always enjoyed both science and arts subjects, and completed an extended project on King Richard III. I studied a mixture of A-levels as I have always enjoyed both science and arts subjects, and completed an extended project on King Richard III. During my degree I worked on a broad range of literature and history, from Ancient Greece to the present day, with a special interest in the Victorians and the Tudors. At the end of my GCSEs I almost dropped English, but chose to carry on to A-level at the last minute and went on to study at Cambridge after taking a year out after Year 13. I have a lot of empathy for anyone who doesn’t yet know what they want to do next!

I’m a big fan of Shakespeare and I’m lucky enough to have been to see quite a few of his plays on stage, but I hope to encourage students who find his language difficult or struggle to put their thoughts into an essay.

About my sessions

For A-Level, I know how important exam technique is for arts subjects. I've worked as an A-Level tutor for 2 years, taking students all the way through from Year 12 through to the end of their exams in Year 13. I will make sure I’ve looked into the appropriate board if provided in advance so we can look at some practice questions, and I will be prepared to mark essays and talk through plans and approaches to literary analysis. I’d like to keep an open dialogue, so that if you become aware...

I’d like to keep an open dialogue, so that if you become aware of any particular tricky areas in the subject, we can plan a lesson around them. Before exams, we can arrange revision sessions to cover difficult topics and go over past papers.

My refund policy is as follows:

All sessions cancelled with at least 24 hours’ notice will be fully refunded. Sessions that are cancelled within 24 hours of the lesson’s start time will not be refunded unless the circumstances are exceptional. If technical difficulties make it impossible to complete the session, it will be refunded.

Sought to find a tutor for my son Daniel, After having a free 15 mins consultation with Grace, Daniel and i decided to choose Grace for tutoring, This is Daniel 2nd week of tutoring and I am already seeing the improvement. Grace is always prepared for her lesson and work through With Daniel his strength and applying strategies to improve his weakness. She understands the A level English curriculum and even better has already master text like Paradise Lost which my son was struggling with, since engaging in tutoring with Grace Daniel is alot more confident with his text, and starting to analyse his text way better .I would definitely recommend Grace as tutor to assist with confidence and overall improvement in your area of study.
