About me

Humanitarian Engineering MSc student at the University of Warwick, with a BSc in Economics.

Having recently graduated with a BSc in Economics, I was delighted to join the UK's first Humanitarian Engineering course. I have a strong rigorous analytical background in mathematics, making me ideal for tutoring at all levels - alongside strong expertise in Economics, as a result of studying in a world-leading department.

Exams can be quite daunting for young students - the pressure we and society places on ourselves has never been higher. Thankfully, I have been able to coach students into understanding and ultimately improving their performance in crucial exams for almost a year now with MyTutor.

As an individual, I play mixed hockey, rugby, and am firmly involved in volunteering causes locally and internationally.

About my sessions

A lot of tutors on MyTutor will often be teaching upwards of 10 students at any time. I prefer to do things differently.

Education is an extremely individual experience, and the last thing that a student needs is a tutor who views them as 'just another hour'. My teaching style revolves around having a very select number of students who I believe are willing and determined to improve their grades.

This style has reaped rewards for my pupils in the year I have been working with MyTutor, with all pupils going on to achieve the required grades for their academic progress.

To achieve this, a personalised learning plan that is put in place for each student. At the beginning of our time together, the pupil and I will work together to identify key weaknesses, in technique and theory, and come up with a plan to address these and gain the greatest benefit.

The secret to this success is the agency given to each student - rather than being taught as children, they are given responsibility and trust in order to help collaborate towards academic achievement, as opposed to normal tutors who will simply turn up for an hour and cover a topic - my work goes much further, and achieves much more.

Please feel free to contact me for a free video meeting if you have any questions, I'm extremely confident in my teaching style, and this is affirmed by the results my students achieve.

There are 892 litres of oil in Mr Aston’s oil tank. He uses 18.7 litres of oil each day. Estimate the number of days it will take him to use all the oil in the tank.

Estimate, so: 900 litres, and 20 litres per day. 900/20 = 45 However, any estimation that results in an answer between 44-56 is acceptable.Estimate, so: 900 litres, and 20 litres per day. 900/20 = 45 However, any estimation that results in an answer between 44-56 is acceptable.

What could cause a rise in the demand for University places?

Can be anything reasonable that indicates a shift in demand, e.g. greater perceived returns to education. Incorrect answers are supply-side based answers, e.g. Government makes the cost of University cheaper. Can be anything reasonable that indicates a shift in demand, e.g. greater perceived returns to education.
