Aleksandr worked with my child for three months revising Physics once every two weeks and set work for him to do each week. He helped him go from working at a C to achieving an A in his recent GCSE mocks. Astonishing result without any fuss. Worth every penny. Great job well done.

Hi Rebecca, I would like to say a big thank you for the first session on My Tutor Web. You have indeed convinced me to carry on. Kassandra, did confirm that she enjoyed the session and she felt you came well prepared for the session. She also confirmed that you had time left to attempt some exam questions.Fantastic!!! It is definite that we will be continuing the sessions. Thanks again. Cynthia.

Joseph P. GCSE Physics tutor, A Level Physics tutor, Uni Admissions T...

Joseph has been the most fantastic help with GCSE revision this Easter. He's given up a huge amount of time, is encouraging, flexible, easy to deal with, focussed, targeted - the all round perfect tutor. His greatest achievement is to have taught my son how to enjoy maths. A lifetime's terror of the subject has turned into enjoyment. My son said he'll miss maths and he thinks he has a good chance of getting a high grade. Unthinkable before Joseph started helping him a few months ago.

What our amazing tutors have to say

Brimming with up-to-date curriculum knowledge and always willing to help

What sort of things do you cover with your students?

Usually we cover both subject knowledge and exam technique, although that can change depending on each individual student. Then we go through diagrams, and they ask questions, and we go from there.

How is MyTutor different from school?

Lots of students say that the classes are too big in school, or that they don't have time to ask teachers after lessons. In my tutorials, we take time to explore things in a little in a bit more detail.

Answered by Sophie V

Studies Psychology at Bristol

What happens in a typical tutorial?

I always look up the board my students are taking so the lessons are really relevant. Then we go through past papers or set texts, whatever the student finds helpful.

Answered by Alice T

Studies English at Oxford

How do you explain tricky concepts in your tutorials?

I use the shared whiteboard. We make diagrams together and label them, and often the student prints it off because they know it's right and they completely understand it.

Do you have any success stories?

After tutoring one girl went and told all her friends the new explanation I gave her. And she was so excited about what she wrote in the exam she emailed me immediately afterwards.

Answered by Stephanie R

Can you help with last-minute revision?

There was one girl who had her exam on Monday. She wanted tuition on Friday, Saturday and Sunday beforehand. It was very intense, but she said the exam went well.
