Grace G. GCSE English Literature tutor, GCSE History tutor, Mentoring...

Grace is honestly been a godsend for me. She made writing essays super clear getting me an A in History which otherwise I would not have been able to do! She also made learning that little bit better by making everything much clearer and understandable than what teachers would otherwise do! 10/10 if you're struggling with exams Grace will get you through for sure!

This was our last tutorial before my exam. I must say Dilly has been so amazing. Over the past tutorials my exam skills has improved a lot! She is very clear when explaining how to structure essays & to write effective evaluation points. She’s honest in pointing out my mistakes and how to avoid them In the future. I couldn’t have felt any more confident for my exam. Highly recommend to the students!

Eleanor F. IB Economics tutor, A Level Economics tutor, GCSE Economic...

Ellie was an incredibly warm-hearted, competent, and well prepared tutor. I had 20 tutorials with her concerning Personal Statement Mentoring, TSA Oxford Preparation, and Oxford Interview Preparation (E&M) and I enjoyed all of them. Eleanor's friendly yet professional nature made me feel thoroughly prepared for the Oxford admissions process. Most importantly: I received my offer from Oxford (Keble College) in E&M today! (11/2/17) Therefore, I'm really thankful for her guidance and support, both academically and personally.

What our amazing tutors have to say

Brimming with up-to-date curriculum knowledge and always willing to help

What sort of things do you cover with your students?

Usually we cover both subject knowledge and exam technique, although that can change depending on each individual student. Then we go through diagrams, and they ask questions, and we go from there.

How is MyTutor different from school?

Lots of students say that the classes are too big in school, or that they don't have time to ask teachers after lessons. In my tutorials, we take time to explore things in a little in a bit more detail.

Studies Psychology at Bristol

What happens in a typical tutorial?

I always look up the board my students are taking so the lessons are really relevant. Then we go through past papers or set texts, whatever the student finds helpful.

How do you explain tricky concepts in your tutorials?

I use the shared whiteboard. We make diagrams together and label them, and often the student prints it off because they know it's right and they completely understand it.

Do you have any success stories?

After tutoring one girl went and told all her friends the new explanation I gave her. And she was so excited about what she wrote in the exam she emailed me immediately afterwards.

Can you help with last-minute revision?

There was one girl who had her exam on Monday. She wanted tuition on Friday, Saturday and Sunday beforehand. It was very intense, but she said the exam went well.
