I struggle with time management whilst doing an exam paper. How will I be able to answer every question in the time given for the exam?

The best way to improve time management is by practising past papers. These can be found on your exam board website e.g. AQA, Edexcel etc. By completing a past exam paper under timed conditions you are putting yourself under pressure to answer the questions in the same time you would have in the real exam. It is one thing to be able to answer all the questions once you have learnt the maths content. The next trick is to manage this under the constraints of time. After attempting all available past papers, hopefully you will feel more than ready for the real test!

How do you calculate a number to the power of a fraction? (8^2/3)

y is inversely proportional to d^2. When d = 10, y = 4. d is directly proportional to x^2. When x = 2, d = 24. Find a formula for y in terms of x. Give your answer in its simplest form.

x^2 - y = 14, y - 2 = 6x, solve these equations simultaneously

Solve the equation x^2 + 3x -18 using the quadratic formula.
