Factorise the following quadratic x^2 - 8 + 16

Find two numbers that multiply together to equal the 3rd term and the product of the same two numbers also needs to equal the 2nd term. This is trial and error but in this case it will be,    (x - 4) (x - 4)

The equation of a curve is y = x^2 - 5x. Work out dy/dx

A curve has equation: y = x^3 - 3x^2 + 5. Show that the curve has a minimum point when x = 2.

Work out 7/(2x^2) + 4/3x as a single fraction in its simplest form.

A curve has equation y = x^2 - 7x. P is a point on the curve, and the tangent to the curve at P has gradient 1. Work out the coordinates of P.
