The line AB has equation 5x + 3y + 3 = 0. The line AB is parallel to the line y = mx + 7. Find the value of m.

Rearrange AB into y = mx + c format: 1) 3y = -3 - 5x 2) y = - 5/3 x - 1

Compare equation with y = mx + c

Conclude m = - 5/3

You can also deduce the y-intercept of AB is -1.
