Examine how and why definitions of development have changed.

Set out the essay chronologically through time. Begin around the 1960s and list the definitions of development that existed (the use of terms such as first and third world). Explain why society at the time used them, which countries fit into them (with some examples of economic reasons such as GDP which may have placed them in these categories), and why the terms fell out of use. For an essay of around 4 paragraphs follow this through using the 60s, 70-80s, 90-2000s, and then present day. Make sure to always give country examples, and show how the measurement of development through less economic means has come about through definition changes.
