How do I structure this paragraph when they're asking about use of language in this extract of Jane Eyre?

Let's first have a look at the language and find a phrase or sentence that we think we can analyse. In this extract the phrase, "seeing before me terrible red glare, crossed with thick black bars" is good because it describes the Red Room with paritcular imagery that is relevant to how Jane feels. When doing a paragraph on language we need to ask ourselves 3 questions that go beyond a regular P.E.E (point, evidence, evaluation) paragraph. So, let's try that.

They are: HOW has Bronte used langauge? WHY has Bronte done this? WHAT are the intended effects on the reader. This phrase is an example of symbolism. We could say that Bronte uses language to symbolise the how the Red Room is haunting and deadly. The colours "red" and "black" have connotaions of death, sadness, hell; perhaps indicating the room's supernatural conditions. The symbolism of the room helps the reader sympathise with Jane and provides insight into Jane's character and how she responds to what she think she sees.
