Does the structure of a poem (or the way it appears on the page) link to its overall meaning?

The structure of a poem is important to understanding its content! This changes from poem to poem but when analysing a piece, you should think about the number of stanzas included, the length of the stanzas and sentences and the visual shape of the poem. These factors can change the rhythm of a poem (and how it sounds) and can provide a purposeful image for the reader as well as poetic work (for example, the modern poet Rupi Kaur, who draws pictures of her subject matter beside her poem so that the reader can enjoy art as well as literature).
