How can I prepare for interviews for medical school?

Interviews are a daunting experience. But remember, everyone is in the same boat! Interview styles vary across admission boards but first I can offer two general pieces of advice which will apply across the board. First, prepare for the day. Outline how you might answer some predictable questions but be careful not to memorise answers word-for-word (you don't want to come across as a robot!). If you are honest, open and speak with real interest and commitment it will come across to an interviewer. Likewise, if you are ill-prepared or untruthful it may also be evident. Secondly, showing what you taken from work experience demonstrates to an interviewer that your reasons for wanting to study medicine are not based solely on ideas in your head but on real experience of the job, which includes appreciating the downsides to being a doctor.
