I have £300 I want to split between my daughters Megan, Danni and laura in the ratio 3:4:1 respectively. How much money will Danni get?

Firstly, we need to add up how many 'parts' this money is being split into by adding the ratio, 3+4+1 = 8 parts. Now we need to calculate how much one part is equal to by splitting our £300 into the 8 parts. we do this by simply doing 300/8 = £37.50 Danni has 4 parts so we do £37.50 x 4 = £150.00
