Explain why a polymer may be more suitable for bottles than glass

Polymers such as PET have various properties such as being flexibility, lighweight and good strenght to weight ratio that allow them to be ergonomically used by consumers. Polymers are also able to be pigment and blow moulded into various forms giving them a diverse range of available products. Silicon Dioxide or glass on the other is heavy and much less economic especially with regards to recycling.
