Quantitative and qualitative testing are important aspects to consider when selecting a material or materials for a specific product. Explain what you understand by each of these terms.

Quantitative testing is objective and can often be judged numerically. For example, 'The material must weigh no more than ......' is an example of a quantitative specification point.
Qualitative testing is used to define aspects of the specification and is more subjective. For example 'The material used must be aesthetically pleasing' is an qualitative specification point.
