How to write an outstanding personal statement?

In order to stand out from the crowd, you'll need to draw the reader in. The introduction of your statement needs to be immersive and interesting and the conclusion needs to be equally outsatnding, as these are the two paragraphs which your admissions officer will mostly remember about you. However, your writing should convey your passion for the course naturally and you should not write something ostentatious just to grab the reader's attention. When you continue to the next paragraph of your statement, get straight to the point and do not include any irrelevant information, f.e. extracurricular activities in which you took part that haven't thought you any skills you can employ later on in university, and do not go off topic. Write about what sparked your interest in the course and how did you become more involved with it - did you start reading extra materials/ books/ articles about it, if you did, include all of the additional readings you have done. Write about a project you did, or a competition you won that are relevent to the subject you want to study and show that you are responsible and determined and will fit well in the curriculum.Whatever you write, the most important thing is to be genuine. Show your genuine enthusiasm for the course and what you want to learn and take from it.
